Why do my GoPro pictures look bad? ›

Blurry pictures are a combination of motion (camera motion or subject motion) and a slow shutter speed. In the case of blurry GoPro pictures, the cause is almost always low light. GoPros, like all cameras, set their exposure based on the amount of light being made available to the sensor.

Why is my GoPro footage low quality? ›

Turn off HyperSmooth on your GoPro HERO while shooting in low light conditions. HyperSmooth doesn't work very well in low light. With HyperSmooth on, you could find that the footage is blurry and shaky. This is one of HyperSmooth's limitations.

First of all, keep your camera between the subject and the sun. Otherwise, everything will be dark because your camera will try to compensate for the bright light coming from the sun. The second advice, make sure that the subject is close enough. The GoPro cameras come with a wide angle lens.

Photos. The GoPro Hero12 Black is a solid little point-and-shoot action camera that offers very good image quality for a camera of this style and sensor size. I'd recommend putting everything in auto, putting your sharpness to medium, and making sure the color profile is left at GoPro Color. Also keep your sharpness setting to medium to prevent noisy shots. Put a light on the camera too.
